If you want to Meet the Pope

While in Rome you can easily have a chance to meet the Pope who has several  appointments with the faithful:

The Papal Audience, every Wednesday morning
The Angelus, Papal Blessing every Sunday at noon

The Papal Audience

When:
Every Wednesday morning from 10.00 to 12.00pm
except when the Pope is abroad or in vacation (July)
Where:
Saint Peter square, or Audience Hall 'Sala Nervi'
Ticket is required but not compulsory for individuals
The ticket to attend the papal audience is free.
How to get the tickets 

However if you dont have the chance to get a ticket ahead of time you can still join the audience entering the square even when the Audience has already started.
The Papal Audience is not a mass but a moment of reflection on the Gospel when the Pope share his ideas and reflections with faitful that came to visit him from all over the world.

Special  Liturgical celebrations and events in Saint Peter’s Square

Special events attended by the pope take place along the year in Saint Peter square or in the Audience Hall 'Sala Nervi' : liturgical celebrations,  meetings with special groups and categories, etc.

How to get the tickets.

The Angelus, Papal Blessing

When:
every sunday at 12.00pm
except when the Pope is abroad or in vacation (July)

Where:
Saint Peter square
No tickets are required 

​The Papal Angelus is an  brief encounter between the pope and the faithful that ends with a prayer and a Papal blessing.
Faithful are gathered in Saint Peter square and the Pope appears from the window of the Apostolic palace, overlooking the square or, in some occasions, from the benediction loggia, central balcony of the facade of Saint Peter basilica.

The cerimony lasts few minutes.

Papal Masses and Papal events inside Saint Peter’s Basilica

The Pope celebrates mass inside saint Peter basilica or other roman churches few times per year on occasion of the most important religious feasts (Christmas, Easter, Saint Peter and Paul Day).

tickets are free of charge but has to be purchased directly at the Prefecture of the Papal Household
