I'll be happy to guide your family here in Rome and I have a large experience in leading tours with families. I'm a mother too and I deeply understand the concern about kids getting the most out of their roman experience without being overwhelmed.
I usually gear the tour towards the kids not forgetting the adult needs.
My tours are private, just for your family: each tour last a minimum 3 hours.
